Sindhudurg District, Maharashtra is one of the backward districts. According to a survey conducted by the District Administration, there are more than 3,500 physically challenged persons in the district. Though we were providing need-based assistance to people from this region, we always wanted to have a base here. Fortunately, we got (12) acres of land in donation. The terrain was inhospitable. The land was uncultivated. The project site surrounded by a river which flooded in Monsoon cutting off the project site. It was a difficult scenario…but we had a dream and we worked hard to shape up this barren land into a worthy project for rehabilitation of persons with disabilities.
